Bra-blems (Problems with bras) Part 9 How to Make Breasts Look Smaller

There’s a famous saying, the grass is always greener on the other side?

Well, nobody understands this more than women with naturally large breasts!

As a woman with a larger bust, I can say truthfully that I would love to have my bust not be the centre of attention.

Don’t worry – there are ways to make your bust appear smaller without resorting to surgery.

Don’t Sacrifice Comfort

Wearing a bra that is too small for your breasts won’t make you look smaller, in fact, it’s very unflattering and can even make your bust appear even larger

Ensure that you are wearing the correct band and cup size.

Minimize your bust

Once you know your correct size, you should invest in a minimizer bra, the style redistributes your breast tissue in a way that your breasts appear smaller.

Rather than flattening your bust, a minimizer will spread your breasts out and make you look one to two cup sizes smaller.

When buying a minimizer bra, you must ensure it is in your measured cup size, you don’t need to wear a smaller size in a minimizing bra
Minimizer bras are a must for women with a large bust who want to wear front button-down blouses without gaping, they are also great with turtlenecks, which can make your bust appear larger.

A good minimizer bra is a versatile wardrobe staple.

Bra-blems (Problems with bras) Part 8 Breast Enhancing Bras

How to Make Breasts Look Bigger

Sometimes, you just want a little extra boost to maximize what you’ve got.

We all remember the teenage trick of “stuffing or padding your bra with tissues or socks!”

If you want to make your breasts look bigger, there are now much more sophisticated lingerie and prosthetic solutions.

The easiest and most convenient way to appear to have a larger bust is a padded bra.

There are a few different types of padded bras, that all have different functions.
A bra with moulded or contour padding has foam pads that are built into the bra cup itself.

These pads are often graduated for subtle, natural breast enhancement.

Contour padding is a common feature of a moulded T-shirt bra.
Bras with push-up pads sometimes known as chicken fillets or bump pads are designed to lift the breast from the bottom and are usually removable

Push up bras create a more defined cleavage as well as adding to your bust size and are a good choice if you don’t want to wear a padded bra all the time.

Some bras, combine contour padding with push-up cookies or chicken fillets so that you can customize how much padding you’d like.

Bra Accessories for Bigger Breasts

Another way to make your bust look larger without surgery is with bra accessories.

Removable breast inserts let you turn any bra into a push up bra, expanding your bra shopping choices. They are also great for woman with uneven breasts, to help them look more even, another advantage of separate bra padding or inserts is that they are often made out of products like silicone, that can appear smoother and less noticeable than regular padding.

More Tips and Tricks

All of these items will give you the appearance of larger breasts that are natural looking and not over the top.

Some women think that wearing a larger cup size bra will help make their bust appear bigger – this is not true. it will just make you look sloppy.

Bra-blems (Problems with bras) Part 5 – Solutions for Falling Out of Your Bra

Falling out of bra

Bra-blems (Problems with bras) Part 5 –  Solutions for Falling Out of Your Bra

Do you breasts fall out from underneath your underwire when you run or lift your arms, or even during the day? This is a sure sign that your bra does not fit you properly.

Correct Your Fit

In order for your bra to stay put and support your boobs, the band needs to be snug.

An easy way to check your fit, try putting a finger under the bra band, between the breasts.

If you can fit two fingers or more under the band, it’s definitely too loose.

Many women wear a larger band size than they should because they think a looser band will be more comfortable or prevent back fat.

In reality, a tighter band will give you more support and prevent pain in your shoulders and back.

Trust me – you’ll look and feel much better!
An important bra fitting tip is that the size of the cup will differ depending on the band size.

For example, the cup of a 36D bra is not the same size as a 34D bra they don’t have the same amount of room in the cup.

If you want to try a smaller band size, you will also have to increase the cup size. An example is, if you are wear a 36D bra and your breasts fall out of the bottom of the cup, you should try a 34DD instead.
If your bra band is more than one size too big, or if you have trouble with your cup size as well, we recommend remeasuring yourself. You can find directions for measuring your bra size at  http://www.lindasonline.com/bra-fitting-calculator

Bra care is essential

If you’re falling out of a bra that used to be a good fit, it might need to be replaced as it is too old.

After washing over time, the elastic in a bra band can stretch and will no longer fit.

If its too loose on the tightest hook, it’s time to get rid of it!

Even the most expensive bras won’t last forever, so you will need to check your fit often and chuck out bras that aren’t providing the support you need.

Ensure you extend the life of your bras by hand-washing them or putting them in a lingerie bag before chucking in the washing machine, and most companies suggest that you never put your bra in the dryer!

Bra-blems (Problems with bras) Part 3 Breast Reconstruction

Bra-blems (Problems with bras) Part 3 Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction to rebuild the breast after a lumpectomy or mastectomy procedure can create unique bra issues. With the proper care, you can heal more comfortably and look and feel great after surgery.

Immediately after your surgery, your doctor or surgeon should recommend the best type of bra to wear.

A common recommendation is a surgical compression bra, which holds the breast in place while its healing and can help with drainage and is designed to apply even pressure on the breasts to promote the healing process, and may be prescribed if you are susceptible to lymphedema.
If you don’t need a medical grade compression bra, your doctor may recommend wearing a soft-cup bra, such as a low or medium-impact sports bra. A front closure bra may be easier to put on and off than a bra with a traditional back hook and clasp.
A cheaper option may be to wear a soft cup bra, a bra without an underwire, or sports bra.

ALWAYS follow your surgeon’s advice and bra recommendations during the healing process.
If you are not having breast reconstruction surgery immediately, or are having more than a single breast reconstruction surgery, think about an adjustable breast form, that can be tailored to the size that you need.

With the filling taken out, the shell (the bra cup) can be used to smooth the breast without adding size.

By reducing the size of the breast form over time, you will only have to purchase one prosthesis over the duration of your surgeries.

Fitting Help

After a breast reconstruction, you will need to be fitted, or measure yourself to find your bra new and correct size.

Because bra sizing can be a little more difficult after breast surgery,  you may want to visit a professional bra fitter to be fitted correctly.

Bras for Women after a Breast reconstruction

The main fitting difference between breasts before and after reconstruction surgery is that some reconstructed breasts do not have nipples.

Bra cups are designed with extra space to fit the nipple, so the bra cup can gape or dent at the centre of the reconstructed breast.
To help prevent this problem, I suggest a bra that has a heavy lining or a moulded bra as it will also help make uneven breasts look more symmetrical.
Most women who have reconstruction surgery wear bras without an underwire. In addition to being comfortable, bras without an underwire are more forgiving when one breast is larger than the other.

There are a wide variety of supportive soft cup bras on the market.

Bra-blems (Problems with bras) Part 2 – Uneven Breasts

Several years ago, one of my friends went through a double mastectomy and a full breast reconstruction and I remember the trouble she had with self confidence, bras, and clothing, and last week another of my friends has undergone a double mastectomy so I thought I would do some research to assist with her and other ladies about bras after surgery and hope that all ladies that go through this horrible life changing time can gain some info and support from my articles.

Don’t be embarrassed if you don’t have perfectly even boobs.

Unbelievably, most women have one boob that is smaller than the other.

Some women have an obvious difference from one boob to another up to a full cup size or even more of a difference.

There are lots of different ways to have a bra fit comfortably on both sides of your bust or to disguise the difference in size.

One of the most convenient solutions for women whose boobs are less than one cup size different on each side, is to use the shoulder straps to adjust the fit on each side.

Try a Little Illusion dressing

If you want to make your bust look a little more even, don’t try to squeeze the larger boob into a bra cup that is too small.

There are lots of ways to fill the smaller cup to create a more symmetrical silhouette. The easiest solution is to wear a moulded cup bra that is fitted to the larger size breast, because this type of bra keeps its shape, and will hide a small difference in cup size.

If your cup size difference is more noticeable, you can use a single breast enhancer in the cup to lift the smaller breast.
A great all-in-one solution for women with a smaller cup size is to buy a padded bra with removable cookies, push-up pads, sometimes called chicken fillets. Simply remove the padding from the larger side. Many modern padded bras come with this option.

Post-Surgical Solutions

Many women have uneven boobs after breast surgery.

For women who have had lumpectomies, mastectomies, or simply have a very large difference between their cup size, it is recommended specialty breast forms.

Mastectomy have other advantages for post-surgical women, including fabric designed to be comfortable against sensitive skin and full-coverage styles that support without binding.

Need a Personal Solution?

Every woman’s body is different, so sometimes you just need a little personal help to find the perfect bra or advice based on your size and shape.

TWO DIFFERENT DOCTORS OFFICES

Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint. Both have trouble walking and appear to require a hip replacement.

The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits weeks to see a specialist then gets an x-ray, which isn’t reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The FIRST is a Golden Retriever.

The SECOND is a Senior Citizen.

Next time take me to a vet .

Catholic Heart Attack
A man suffered a serious heart attack and had open heart bypass surgery.
He awakened from the surgery to find himself in the care of nuns at a Catholic Hospital.

As he was recovering, a nun asked him questions regarding how he was going to pay for his treatment.
She asked if he had health insurance.
He replied, in a raspy voice, ‘No health insurance.’
The nun asked if he had money in the bank..
He replied. ‘No money in the bank.’
The nun asked, ‘Do you have a relative who could help you?’

He said, ‘I only have a spinster sister, who is a nun.

The nun became agitated and announced loudly,
Nuns are not spinsters! Nuns are married to God‘.

The patient replied,
‘Send the bill to my brother-in-law.’

A sexually active woman tells her plastic surgeon that she wanted   her vaginal lips reduced in size because they were too loose and  floppy.

Out of embarrassment she insisted that the surgery be kept a secret  and  the surgeon agreed.

Awakening from the anaesthesia after the surgery she found 3 roses carefully placed beside her on the bed.  Outraged, she immediately calls in  the  doctor.

‘I thought I asked you not to tell anyone about my  operation!’

The surgeon told her he had carried out her wish for confidentiality and that the first rose was from him:  ‘I felt sad because you went  through  this all by yourself.’

‘The second rose is from my nurse. She assisted me in the surgery and empathized because she had had the same procedure done some time  ago.’

‘And what about the third rose ?’ she asked.

‘That’s from a man upstairs in the Burns Unit. He wanted to thank you for  his new ears.’
