Thinking of our troops on Australia Day Saturday 26th January

How good is this, we wish them well until their duty ends….

Mowing the Grass

Mowing the grass

A picture of this Australian Digger in Afghanistan with His Tiny ‘Plot of Grass’in front of his tent. It’s heart-warming! Here is a soldier stationed in Afghanistan ; posted to a Big Sand Box.

He asked his wife to send him dirt (Australian soil), fertilizer, and some grass seed so that he can ‘smell the grass’, and feel it grow beneath his feet.

When the men of the Squadron have a mission that they are going on, they take turns walking through the grass in Australian soil – to bring them good luck.

If you notice, he is even cutting the grass with a pair of a scissors.

Sometimes we are in such a hurry that we don’t stop and think about the little things that we take for granted.

Upon receiving this, please say a prayer for our Australian Soldiers that give and give (and give up) so unselfishly for US.

Happy Australia Day

Who said there were no good stories in the newspapers anymore?

PERTH – An SAS soldiers collecting toys for children was stabbed when he helped stop a suspected shoplifter in east Perth . The ‘Toys-R-UsStore Manager told ‘The West Australian’ that a man was seen on surveillance cameras last Friday putting a laptop under his jacket at the store.

When confronted, the man became irate, knocked down an employee, pulled a knife and ran towards the door.

Outside were four SAS soldiers collecting toys for the “Toys For Tots” program.

Smith said the soldiers stopped the man, but he stabbed one of them in the back. Fortunately the cut did not appear to be severe.

The suspect however was transported by ambulance to the Royal Perth Hospital with two broken arms a broken leg, possible broken ribs, multiple contusions, and assorted lacerations including a broken nose and jaw …Injuries he apparently sustained when he tripped whilst trying to run after the stabbing.

One of the soldiers said, “He was a clumsy bastard.”
